Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing the delivery of multiple large-scale projects in the Sustainability Department

Passive House planning and assessment for numerous large-scale projects with a focus on MEP, building form and fabric, building physics, airtightness and thermal bridging

The ability to carry out Design Optimisation

Facilitating design teams to engage with and achieve Passive House requirements

Excellent, timely & clear communication with clients and colleagues
-
Evaluation and refinement of all aspects of building and design with the requirement of close collaboration with Architects, Engineers, Contractors and other members of a design team

Construction site visits inspecting the works in progress and championing good design & delivery of quality

Building performance analysis using PHPP and/or dynamic thermal simulation tools would be an advantage but not essential

PHPP experience would be a considerable advantage, but full training will be provided.

Problem solving, writing briefs and exploring the project parameters
-
Identifying project needs such as training and resource, administrative needs such as IT and definition and improvement of quality systems

Identify and implement potential efficiencies through the Sustainability Department
The ideal candidate would have the following:

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bring others onboard with their ideas
-
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

Strong commercial awareness and a keen interest in Sustainability
-
Solid understanding of heat pump systems in modern buildings is a considerable advantage
-
An understanding of the MEP servicing approaches for Passive House buildings - this would be a distinct advantage
-
Experience in PHPP – this would be a distinct advantage but is not necessary as full training will be provided

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel/Word, as a minimum
-
Working knowledge of Revit, would be an advantage but not necessary
Educational Requirements:
Level 8 degree in Building Services is required – Sustainability or Mechanical Engineering with further qualification in Energy / Sustainability
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sustainability Engineer and ideally in a consultancy environment

Expenses, where applicable, will also be paid at the end of the month
Working hours 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday & .8:30am to 1pm on Friday. It’s very important to us that staff don’t work additional hours if at all possible
